Apply for a Sabbatical

If you have 7 years of consecutive service in the District, you are eligible for a sabbatical. Applications will be considered for the purpose of travel, projects, and/or study which will benefit the schools and pupils of the District. Sabbatical may be for one or two semesters.

Applications are available from Human Resources at the District Office. Applications must be received no later than 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 15. For more information regarding sabbatical leaves see Article XVI. Section G. (page 39-40) of the Contract.

Special News for Special Ed.

The California Teachers Association is offering a survey to members on Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Your participation in the survey online will help determine the top priorities for the State of California regarding the IDEA Reauthorization. Survey results will be used to produce a paper that will be shared with state and federal policymakers.

Survey results will be used by California Special Education stakeholders who will convene the California IDEA Reauthorization Summit January 18.

The MTA office will be closed Monday, December 23 -Friday, January 3.
