LA Shares Will Donate $6 Million
Get Your Share!

LA Shares is a non-profit materials reuse program which takes donations from the local business community of reusable goods and materials (both new and used) and redistributes these items free of charge to non-profits and schools throughout Los Angeles County.

LA Shares is determined to give away $6 million worth of free art supplies, office supplies, office furniture and equipment in 2002.

Nominate Someone (Or Yourself) for
2002 NEA Foundation Award

The California Teachers Association announces a call for nominations for CTAís nominee for the 2002 NEA Foundation Award for Teaching excellence. This award is designed to recognize, reward, and promote excellence in teaching and advocacy for the profession. Participation is open to all CTA members in good standing. Nominations are due to CTA on January 28. Applications are available at the MTA office and on the CTA website, www.cta.org. You can link directly to the CTA website from montebelloteachers.org.

Congratulations Toby Manzanares
For Excellence In Science!

Toby Manzanares-h (MHS) has been honored as a 2001 State Finalist in Science in the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science. He now has the opportunity to vie for national recognition. Toby was honored by the Board of Education November 15. Congratulations and best of luck Toby!

Expect Your W-2ís In The Mail

All W-2ís for the 2001 tax year will be U.S. mailed from the payroll office. The W-2 will be mailed to the address on your payroll warrant or direct deposit stub.

How To Deal With Potential
Exposure to Anthrax

According to Board policy, should you become aware of a potential biological threat (such as receiving powder substance in the mail or finding powder scattered on the campus), immediately isolate the area where located and report the matter to the site principal. The principal will report the threat to Maintenance and Operations (ext. 6740) or Risk Management (ext. 7919).

Questions or concerns related to Anthrax should be addressed directly to Risk Manager Janna Kelley at extension 7919.

MTA Office Winter Break Schedule

The MTA office will be closed Monday December 24-Friday January 4. Beginning Monday, January 7 the office will resume regular hours: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday.
