Blue Cross has expanded its GenericSelect drug discount program. The purpose of the program is to offer effective, affordable choices for prescription medications. The GenericSelect program will
Waive your drug copayment of the first 30-day fill of the GenericSelect prescription at a network retail pharmacy, then
Waive the drug copayment on your first GenericSelect mail-order prescription filled through PrecisionRx after you have filled the prescription at a network retail pharmacy.
According to Blue Cross, generic drugs are identical to their brand-name equivalents in strength, quality, and performance. And, generics have to meet strict safety, purity, and performance standards governed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration..
GenericSelect drugs are available in the therapeutic classes of drugs that contribute to over 50% of total pharmacy costs. The chart below shows the current list of Blue Cross GenericSelect drugs.

Jury Duty May Be
Postponed Not Cancelled
Many Bargaining Unit members have reported an increased interest by the courts for participation in jury duty. The MTA-MUSD Contract provides no pay for jury duty. Human Resources will provide letters to employees regarding the District’s policy regarding jury duty leaves.
The courts will allow school personnel to postpone jury duty until breaks such as summer, winter, spring, or off-track. Personal business leave may be used for jury duty. However, a limit of nine days of current sick leave may be used for this purpose.
