The Site Safety report must be filed to the Risk
Manager, Toni Consolo, no later than November 1. This report must be on the

The Risk Manager will have 20 days to review the report and set a date for inspection.
Pre-schools and elementary schools will be inspected
in years ending with odd years.
Intermediate,
high schools, and adult education schools will be inspected in years ending in
even years.
The inspections must be completed by February 15
and should include the presence of the Faculty Club Chairperson or designee.
On or before June 1 the Risk Manager must submit to each Site Safety Committee a
report indicating the completion and/or progress of implementation of each section
of the report with explanations for any items not addressed or completed.
Why CTA Recommends
Governor Gray Davis...
During every year of Davisí administration, education funding
has exceeded the Proposition 98 minimum guarantee. In the previous 10 years (after
Prop. 98ís passage in 1988), education funding exceeded the guarantee only once.
In 2001-02, we were $4 billion over the Proposition 98 guarantee.
After
the gigantic CTA rally (Action Day for Schools), Governor Davis worked with legislative
leaders to provide an additional $1.8 billion in ongoing, unrestricted money for
education in the 2000 budget.
Governor
Davis worked with CTA to achieve, and he supported and signed, the largest single-year
improvements ever in STRS benefits. In fact, Davis was instrumental in bringing $11.5
billion in additional money for teacher retirements, providing supplemental benefits
equivalent to 2 percent of salary for teacher retirees.
Governor
Davis supported and signed the law to increase beginning teacher salaries.
Governor
Davis supported and signed the Legislatureís Joint Resolution urging the US Congress
to repeal the Social Security Offset (AJR3).
Governor
Davis was a key partner in getting Prop. 47 on this ballot.
Governor
Davis just signed a bill that will empower teachers to elect teachers to serve on
the STRS governing board. This has been a CTA goal for more than 20 years.
Governor
Davis signed a law this September that will require charter schools to have an annual
accounting of funds and expenditures, and to be located within the geographical area
of the district approving the charter . The charter schools will now be monitored
by the county superintendents.
