The Board of Education is the governing body of the Montebello Unified School District and ultimately makes all decisions concerning our working conditions and wages. The right Board is essential for us to do our jobs effectively.

Urgent Letter Writing Campaign
Governor Must Sign STRS Law

With overwhelming support, the Legislature has sent Gov. Davis a CTA sponsored measure designed to protect teacher retirees from the ravages of inflation. The measure, AB 135, by Assembly Member Sally Havice, would guarantee that pensions paid to teachers would always maintain at least 80% of their original value in inflation-adjusted dollars.

In an effort to get the Governors signature on this bill before October 14, CTA members are mounting a massive campaign to write letters to the governor. Please write a letter of support!

The Honorable Gray Davis
Governor, State of California
