The Bargaining Team resumed negotiations Thursday, September 16 after a summer hiatus. The primary topics are wages and health and welfare benefits.
The Insurance Committee reports that in order to maintain current or similar benefits in future years, monies must be dedicated to the insurance fund. For the past several years the fund has been deficit spending. The Insurance fund will be depleted this year if substantial revenues are not negotiated.
Bargaining Chairperson Terry SalasOrtiz (CCE) will continue to study the insurance data closely.
