Ready or Not...Here Comes the Board Election

The Board of Education election is set for Tuesday, November 6. The filing date closed Friday, August 10. The candidates are Ed Chau (incumbent), Hector Chacon (incumbent), Frank Gomez (incumbent), Gerri Guzman, and Anna Maria Arriola. The Association has already endorsed Ed Chau.

The Political Action Committee will interview all the other candidates August 28 and make an endorsement recommendation to the Executive Committee September 4.

An Open Forum will be held Monday, September 10, 3:30 p.m. at MOI. All candidates are invited to participate. All members of the Association
are invited and encouraged to ask questions of the candidates.
The final endorsements will be made on Tuesday, September 11 at the Council meeting.

The MTA Association for Better Citizenship will contribute money to the endorsed candidates. The Association will also seek funds from the CTA PAC for the endorsed candidates.

And, you guessed, the month of October will be filled with phone banking.
