Council Votes to Increase Trust Contribution

The Council voted Tuesday to increase the Trust Fund contribution $15 per month (ten months per year) in 2006-2007. The contribution will be increased another $15 per month (ten months per year) in 2007-2008. The contributions are included in MTA dues withholding from Bargaining Unit members’ pay warrants. The contribution in 2006-2007 is $85 per month, and it is $100 per month in 2007-2008.

The Trust Fund pays contributions toward retiree health benefits for eligible retirees from age 67 on. The members of the Trust Fund Committee are Chairperson David Lebow (retiree), Margie Granado (MTA President), Paul McKernan (retiree), Cindy Ramirez (MAI), and Frank van der Baan (retiree).
