MTA Safety and Security Report Forms are now available on line at montebelloteachers.org. Simply go to the safety button and then click on the incident report form.

Complete the information on the report and e-mail the report directly to the MTA office. You are encouraged to keep a copy for your files.

It is now easier than ever to report safety and security problems to the MTA office.

CTA State Council Election

An election will be held for a CTA State Council seat. Nominations will close Tuesday, May 21 at the Council meeting (LMI). Eligible members may be nominated in one of three ways: (1) complete the petition (available through your Building Rep), (2) nomination on the floor of Council, or (3) via the Nominating Committee. The Nominating Committee includes Gloria Estrada (MPE) , Brian Stevens (LMI), and Mary Ann Lebow (MHS).

National Call-In Day to Repeal Social Security Offsets
Wednesday, May 1

Many members have discovered that their retirement benefits will be less than planned on because of two provisions in federal law that reduce a pension Social Security benefits if they are also receiving a public pension, such as STRS. These two laws are the Governmental Pension Offset (GPO) and the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP). Both CTA and NEA are working to eliminate these two provisions.
Tell Congress to repeal these unfair laws!
The National Education Association (NEA) leaders will be visiting Members of Congress in Washington, DC Wednesday, May 1. You can support this effort at home by calling your Senators and US Representatives in their district offices on Wednesday, May 1. You can also send an E-mail to your Members of Congress by visiting the NEA website.
